SUBTRACTION CUTTING

The cutting skills which experimental method of hollow construction call 'Subtraction Cutting'. This cutting skills developed by fashion designer and academic Julian Roberts, taught by him at universities worldwide since 1998. These unique cutting techniques and methodologies have been made without any payment available online since 2001, and able to used various to make both of sex fashion garments, accessories, and hollow interior/exterior products.

In London Fashion Week, Julian Roberts has shown 12 womenswear collections under the pseudonym labels 'nothing nothing' and 'JULIANAND', and is currently MA Tutor for Mixed Media Textiles at the Royal College of Art in London UK.

WHAt We will need?

2 fabrics, 2-3m of each.

There are no exact measurements or rules

Lay your fabrics on top of each other, right sides together. Stitch all the way round leaving an opening Turn right side out.

Using the front and back of a bodice pattern as your paper template, chuck each one down carelessly towards the closed end of your duvet cover. The back bodice should be above and the front bodice below, positioned randomly. But remember there are no rules, so if you want to do it differently, go ahead

Using chalk trace the bodice shape.Join up the front and back by drawing a loop from one open end to the other.Repeat for the other side.

Cut away the negative space that you have just drawn. Only cut through the top layer.

Turn inside out. sew the shoulders and stitch together.
